1000 KM

Liege-Paris-Liege

From the “Cité Ardente” to the Eiffel Tower (and back), by bike, independently, without assistance, with free routes and several mandatory parcours.

Around 1000 km, for a unique transnational route, connecting carefully marked routes.

This ultra-distance cycling challenge is a tribute to the Liège-Paris-Liège race, for which Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the oldest of the classics, born in 1892, was to be a first full-scale test. It was time to get this project back on track!

You will prepare your itinerary freely by connecting the imposed routes. On the way, you will cross the relief of Condroz, its typical limestone villages, to Dinant, the route will continue towards the abbey of Scourmont-Chimay where Cistercian monks make beer and cheese.

Once you have crossed the border, you will head towards Laon, where you will stop for 1 minute to admire Notre-Dame Cathedral. You will then head towards Compiègne where you will embark on the obligatory route leading you to the foot of the Eiffel Tower before returning to Meaux. You will take the paths along the Champagne vineyards, drive on the old Reims-Gueux automobile circuit before crossing the Belgian border again.

Facing Bouillon Castle, you will head towards Bastogne via a mandatory route. You will then go to the gates of the Eiffel National Park for a final route to the Belgian border and you will relay the arrival by crossing the final hills of Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

After this final stretch, a Redoutable beer will reward your efforts, with a warm, typically Liège welcome.

Have you opted for the 500 km? You will head towards Bouillon via the first compulsory route located in Dinant. Facing Bouillon Castle, you will head towards Bastogne via a prescribed route. You will then go to the gates of the Eifel National Park for a final route to the Belgian border and you will relay the arrival by crossing the final hills of Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
